Nil Balakaya Cricket Wasanthaya 2010 – Hambanthota

A Cricket Tournament was organized by Nil Balakaya on the 31st March to 1st April 2010 .It was held in the Mandaduwa Ground in Hambanthota. In accordance to a concept of the Head of Nil Balakaya Namal Rajapaksa , it signifies his insight in to the importance of sports to be inculcated in the youth. In which the talents of the southern youth was personified via this event which experienced a spectacular finale.
Many valuable prizes were distributed which included Champions of the tournament – Rs 100,000.00,Runners up – Rs 50,000, Man of the Match Rs 25,000.00,Man of the series Rs 25,000, Semi finals – Rs 10,000, Raffle draw – Lucky Team – Rs 10,000, Mementoes and Certificates.
Hambantota harbour first phase to end by August

The first phase of the Hambantota harbour construction will be completed by August this year and it will be followed by the process of filling the harbour with sea water and the construction will cost US $360 million, the Minister of Ports and Aviation Chamal Rajapaksa said.
The Ports and Aviation Ministry has scheduled to bring the first ship into the harbour by November.
The Ministry has planned to export local products including sugar,rubber and milk products by the first ship leaving the Hambantota Port, Minister Rajapaksa added.

Tharunyata Hetak reaches every nook and corner of societical concerns.Environment is indeed a great concern especially with the growing importance of global warming.
In accordance to yet another concept of the Chairman Namal Rajapaksa TH team sets out on a continuing voyage which happens annually. The special significance of the program was that a special team was headed by the Director Environment Uditha Thenuwara.The obejective of the team was that all the waste polythene and plastic items to cleaned which was left in the Uda Malluwa of Sri Padaya and the adjoining roads of Nallathanniya.
An Environmental and Public Relations awareness broadcasting campaign was also carried on from Nallathanniya to Seethagangula.Many copies of the Thunsarana book was also handed out in the process.In addition a special significance was placed on a religious ceremony.We have carried on these activities which we owe to the society for the heritance of the Youth.
