300 UNP activists join UPFA in support of Namal Rajapaksa

Around 300 grass root activists from United National Party (UNP) in Beliatta area joined the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in support of Mr. Namal Rajapaksa and pledged to work towards Mr. Rajapaksa’s victory.

This incident took place at the residence of Mr. P. K. Somasiri, Deputy Chairman of Beliatta Pradeshiya Sabha. This was organized by Mr. P. K. Sanath, Director of Youth for Tomorrow (Tharunyata Hetak), who welcomed these new members to the UPFA

Addressing the gathering Mr. Namal Rajapaksa said that it is time to give the people the benefits of the victory (of war) though this election. He further stated that in approval of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s program of developing the country, candidates who can serve the grass roots should be sent to Parliament.
