Today’s youth are the leaders of tomorrow. Their role in the development of the country is indispensable. Youth should be provided with opportunities to bring out their talents and make them contribute their part for the country’s development, said Tharunyata Hetak Organization President Namal Rajapaksa.

It is with these objectives that the President initiated the Tharunyata Hetak program, he said. Rajapaksa was addressing a UPFA election rally in Malwana on March 25. The rally was organized by Biyagama SLFP Chief Organizer and Gampaha District UPFA candidate Duleep Wijesekera.

Education and its unique role predominated in the “Tharunyata Hetak”forum of serving the society to the utmost

Education is the primary facilitator in youth development, it lays a rock solid foundation for the youth. In which it creates the fundamentals for a youth to be of utmost efficiency. In the role of youth there are many inputs which are required. Education is not necessarily education in relation to theoretical aspects. It should give an insight to how a youth can face the tomorrow in harmony.

In accordance to a concept of the chairman Namal Rajapaksa we serve the youth in all aspects of education. We have initiated our educational forum from Grade 5 seminars which gave pre guidance to students who were to sit for the respective exams. It was done island wide sparing no district in Sri Lanka.A special significance was that these seminars were also held in Tamil. The forum extended to O/L seminars where it was held all island and also in Tamil. English has been an inadequacy stem for most youth as it has been an ongoing battle. We found a solution for that as well. A programme was initiated and completed (English and personality development). It started in Hambantota which saw the grand finale of 30 days and 60 youth excelled in this workshop, where a remarkable change was eminent in these students. We have created the necessary forum for it to go islandwide. Our quest does not stop there. We also provide guidance for higher education via scholarships to foreign lands such as Russia, China and India.

In the instance of completing higher education, we also create the pathway for local and foreign employment. Tharunyata Hetak invites the entire nation to join us in our continuing quest to serve the youth. A unique opportunity is given to each individual irrespective of any barrier. The education forum is headed by Head of education Mrs Savithri Panditharathna.
