Namal Rajapaksa attends meeting on the needs and requirements of the general public and government officials

Hon. Namal Rajapaksa MP, Chairman, Tharunyata Hetak Organization and host of Parliamentarians and Government Officials attended a meeting that was held at the Mullaitivu District Secretariat in the presence of Hon. G.A. Chandrasiri, Governor, Northern Province and Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage MP, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs. The meeting centered on the needs and requirements of the general public and also the Government officials. It included filling of Cadre vacancies in the various Government offices and institutions, repairing and reconstructing government buildings, the establishment of National Youth Council offices and appointment of officers to coordinate Youth Affairs activities in each of the Divisional Secretaries divisions, the establishment of Sports Clubs in each of the Grama Niladhari divisions, the distribution of sports material and also the distribution of fishing nets and agricultural material to enhance the livelihood of the people.Hon. Uditha Lokubandara MP, Hon. Lohan Ratwatte MP, Hon. Sri Ranga MP, Mr. N. Vedhanayagan – Government Agent / District Secretary, Mullaitivu, Major General LBR Mark – SF Commander – Mullaitivu, Assistant Government Agents, Department Heads, Security Forces & Police Officials, Grama Niladharies and Representatives from Civil Societies in Mullaitivu were also present on this occasion.

Namal Rajapaksa attends meeting on Acceleration of Development in Mullaitivu

Development work in the Mullaitivu District is being accelerated.

Addressing the meeting, Namal Rajapaksa emphasized to the officials the need for the immediate provision of roofing sheets, seed paddy and fishing gear among others to the resettled civilians. He issued instructions to the officials to immediately reopen all schools in the area.

The entire Mullaitivu area was ravaged due to LTTE terrorism. The terrorists destroyed all infrastructure including roads. However, with the elimination of terrorism, the government adopted measures to accelerate development by removing landmines and booby-traps. An initial discussion on the development programmes was held at the Mullaitivu District Secretariat. Deputy Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Parliamentarians Namal Rajapaksa, Uditha Lokubandara and Sri Ranga and Northern Governor G.A. Chandrasiri attended this meeting.

Agricultural Exhibition in Bata-atha begins tomorrow

The Agricultural exhibition at Bata-atha in Hambantota will begin tomorrow under the auspices of the President.

It is being organized in parallel to the national Farmers’ week. The Agricultural exhibition will be held at the Agricultural Technology Park. The exhibition will continue until the 15th of next month. Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena visited the exhibition venue to inquire into the arrangements that are being made there. He was accompanied by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.

Young MPs introduce a new political culture

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has said that the young public representatives of the current Parliament have introduced a new political culture.

He made this reference participating as the Chief Guest at a function organized for the recruitment of new students for English and Computer courses of the Samadhi Foundation in Matara. The foundation is operative under the guidance of Buddhika Pathirana, a UNP Parliamentarian of the Matara District. There is a situation in which Government members providing the time allocated for them in Parliament to Opposition members. Mr. Rajapaksa pointed out that there is a new political vision following the unity displayed by young legislators, irrespective of party differences.
